Seasoning Ingredients:
- 2 tbsp. Romano Cheese
- 1 1/2 tsp. sesame seeds
- 1 tsp. paprika
- 3/4 tsp. salt
- 1/2 tsp. poppy seeds
- 1/2 tsp. celery seeds
- 1/4 tsp. garlic powder
- 1/4 tsp. black pepper
- dash of cayenne pepper
Combine all the ingredients in a small bowl and mix well.
Pasta Ingredients:
- 450g (1 pound) box of pasta spaghettini (a smaller version of spaghetti)
- 1 bottle of Italian Dressing (I like the zesty version)
- 1 cucumber, seeded & chopped fine
- 1 large tomato, seeded & chopped fine
- 1 red pepper, seeded & chopped fine
- 1 yellow pepper, seeded & chopped fine
- grated parmesan cheese, to taste (don't add to much as it can get too salty)
Directions:
Put water to boil, then add pasta. It usual takes about 8-9 minutes. Drain pasta, but don't rinse it. Put the pasta in a bowl and add just a little bit of the italian dressing to keep it from sticking together.
Now add a little bit of pasta, a little seasoning, and a little italian dressing to the veggie mixture and incorporate well. Continue to do this until everything is mixed. After mixing add the parmesan cheese and mix well again. I usually only use about 1/8 - 1/4 of cup, too much and it's too salty.
Put in fridge to chill, then serve.
Tip: You can double the recipe to make it for a bigger crowd. Trust me it goes fast. I have been making this for years, and my mother & grandmother before that. It's great in the summer time for BBQ's because there is no mayo and it can sit outside. Goes great with anything from burgers to steaks.

That looks tasty and fresh. I love how perfectly diced your veggies are. :)
ReplyDeleteHave you ever tried Shirataki noodles? If you wanted to make it even lower calorie, those would be an amazing substitute.
